Your mother always told you to clean your plate, but did she ever tell you to clean your palate? Clean tastebuds are essential to achieve the true flavor of chocolate. So how do you clean tastebuds? Just don't eat anything sweet or bitter right before eating chocolate. This will overload your tastebuds and you won't get the true flavor of the chocolate. Your best bet is to drink something neutral, like hot water to clean your palate of any lingering flavors. Or, just eat a couple pieces of the chocolate before the true tasting to get your palate ready for pure indulgence.
