The Amoretti 2008 World Pastry Team Championship is during August 31 – September 1 at the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. This intense event will have teams of three representing every country. And the slightest mistake can mean the difference between taking home the gold or placing second best. In 2004, the margin of victory (the U.S. team beat France) was 1 point out of a possible 1600 points.

Countries that will be involved this year are USA, Mexico, Germany, China, Italy, Japan, Russia, South Korea, and Japan. This year’s theme is imagination. Maybe there will be a chocolate fountain or two on display.
