This is part one in my NYC chocolate saga. The photo on the left is the Jacques Torres Chocolate Haven in Manhatten, NY. (350 Hudson at King Street).

Using vintage, restored chocolate making equipment, beans are roasted, conched and turned into chocolate on the premises.
Visitors can watch the entire process from the street or from inside a retail store that is completely enveloped in glass and surrounded by the chocolate making equipment. Truly a unique experience.
Inside the retail store, in addition to the cornucopia of chocolates both bite-size and gigantic, is a chocolate bar. The chocolate bar has a seating/lounge area where you can relax and enjoy a cup of liquid chocolate, both iced or hot and in a wide variety of flavors. The sample of the day was white with mint. Very delicious!
The "Chocolate Haven" is one of two NY locations for Jacques Torres. The main factory is located in Brooklyn, 66 Water Street (Between the Brooklyn & Manhattan Bridges).
If you're in NYC and craving a chocolate fix, make sure these spots are on your list.
