Dark chocolate goes mainstream

Dark chocolate has been all the buzz lately in the news of chocolate, and there's no reason why it shouldn't be either.

The benefits are life-saving (in a sense) as it improves blood flow and slows down the production of blood clots. With that going for dark chocolate, more and more big companies are coming forth with chocolate that contains higher percentage in cocoa(powder) and cacao(bean).

Releases of dark chocolate products labeled as "special", "extra dark", and "intense dark" will range from 62-90% in cocoa content, which the borderline standard used to be around 50%.

People are willing to sacrifice sweet chocolate flavor for a healthier "bitter" flavored chocolate as of lately, but you can still count on companies like Mars and Hershey's to sweeten it up just a little more to round up the skeptics.
