Texas Sheet Cake

A favorite of many people, this recipe serves 12-16.

Cake:

2 cups flour

2 eggs

1 teaspoon soda

1 cup margarine

1 cup water

2 cups sugar

1/2 cup sour cream

1/2 teaspoon salt

4 tablespoons cocoa

Mix flour, sugar, eggs, soda, sour cream and salt. Melt margarine and add cocoa mixed with water. Bring to a boil and add to flour mixture.

Pour into a greased jellyroll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.

Icing:

1/2 cup margarine

4 tablespoons cocoa

1 teaspoon vanilla

6 tablespoons milk

1 pound confectioners' sugar

1 cup chopped nuts

While cake is baking, melt margarine. Add milk and cocoa. Bring to a boil and add confectioners' sugar, vanilla and nuts. Spread over cake as soon as it comes out of the oven.
